Project ITSUS:
Intelligent Tutoring System for Undergraduate Statistics
This is a learning technology design project Intelligent Tutoring System for Undergraduate Statistics (ITSUS) completed when I was a doctoral student at the University of Florida.
The goal is to design a learning technology that supports undergraduate statistics learning in the following aspects:
- Provide interactive and individualized statistics learning experience
- Create a gamified and engaging learning environment
- Mitigate statistics anxiety
- Addresses students’ emotional needs in and out of class
- Inspire interest and construct confidence in statistics
To mitigate undergraduate students’ online statistics learning anxiety, the specific objectives are to design an intelligent tutoring system that can:
- Interact with students
- Motivate students
- Engage students
- Provide emotional supports
This design project includes modeling and personas, design requirements and scenarios, and design framework and storyboard.
