Project ITSUS:

Intelligent Tutoring System for Undergraduate Statistics

This is a learning technology design project Intelligent Tutoring System for Undergraduate Statistics (ITSUS) completed when I was a doctoral student at the University of Florida.

The goal is to design a learning technology that supports undergraduate statistics learning in the following aspects:

  • Provide interactive and individualized statistics learning experience
  • Create a gamified and engaging learning environment
  • Mitigate statistics anxiety
  • Addresses students’ emotional needs in and out of class
  • Inspire interest and construct confidence in statistics

To mitigate undergraduate students’ online statistics learning anxiety, the specific objectives are to design an intelligent tutoring system that can:

  • Interact with students
  • Motivate students
  • Engage students
  • Provide emotional supports

This design project includes modeling and personas, design requirements and scenarios, and design framework and storyboard.
